P4MS Students Launch Their Own Bottle Rockets
7th Apr 2025
In an exciting display of creativity and scientific prowess, P4MS successfully designed and launched their own bottle rockets. This hands-on STEM project aimed to teach students about forces, specifically thrust.
The project began with students brainstorming and sketching their rocket designs. Using various sizes of bottles as the main body, they added their own fantastic designs.
On launch day, students filled their rockets with water and pressurized them using bicycle pumps. The rockets soared into the sky, propelled by the force of the expelled water.
Despite our best safety checks, one crash landed on the KS1 roof and another on the Monagh ByPass.
A fantastic afternoon was had by all. They boys and girls have thoroughly enjoyed learning about Space.
