URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL PARENTS
STREP A /SCARLET FEVER SYMPTOMS
As you will have seen in the media, there has been a sharp increase in the number of children with Strep A or Scarlet Fever. Eight children have died recently as a result of contracting this contagious illness. Signs to look out for:
• Sore throat •
Headache
• Fever •
Fine, pink or red body rash •
Rash with a ‘sandpapery’ feel.
It is essential if you feel your child is displaying symptoms of Strep A/ Scarlet Fever, you seek urgent medical advice. Please do not send your child to school if they are displaying any of the above symptoms. Thank you Mrs F Boyd
