Holy Trinity Primary School are delighted to be
awarded the 360 Degree Safe Online Safety Mark for the second time from South West
Grid For Learning. This prestigious award recognises the comprehensive program
of work in the school in relation to esafety.
The assessor Mr Ron Richards from SWGfL was impressed
with ‘how the school has continued to improve its online safety provision and
that the school remains at (and in many places, above) Online Safety Mark
benchmark levels. ‘
Holy Trinity are very proud of the education program
we have in place to teach our children about esafety. Our mascot eSafetysaurus
is a regular visitor at assemblies and events and the monthly codes help drive
the esafety message forward. Mrs Boyd is always very focussed on staff
development and ensures parents receive effective information to help them
navigate the digital world.
We would like to thank Mrs Rooney and Miss Mc Laughlin
for submitting the detailed review and evidence to SWGfL. The submission
covered four main elements relating to: Policy and Leadership, Education,
Technology and Outcomes.
We would also like to thank our teaching staff, Governors, parents and of course
our children for their continued support and work on esafety across the school
and community. Our Digital Leaders are a great team who help us deliver our
esafety messages at regular times throughout the year.
School will finish at 11am on Thursday. We will see you all again on Thursday 5th January. We would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and thank you for all your support this year.
A big thank you to @MS_eduIRL and DreamSpace for a brilliant Minecraft workshop with our P5s today! We had a great time learning lots of new skills from Conor! #MSDreamspace
We have been informed that a number of children who attend Holy Trinity Primary School have been diagnosed with scarlet fever/ Strep A. The Public Health Agency have advised that because of increased rates of Group A streptococcus in the community compared to what is usually seen at this time of year, that it is not unexpected that schools and early years settings will see cases. The Public Health Agency has provided the enclosed information leaflet for parents and guardians. I would encourage to read it as it contains useful information about the scarlet fever and other infections caused by Group A streptococcus. If your child is unwell, they should not attend school or early years settings. If your child is diagnosed with scarlet fever they should stay at home and not attend school or early years settings for at least 24 hours after starting the antibiotic treatment, to avoid spreading the infection.
Whilst we are aware that the cost of living crisis is affecting everyone this year, we would like to support our families who are struggling this Christmas. There is absolutely no obligation to contribute but if anyone would like to send in a small donation or send in new or good quality toys, we will ensure that they are passed on to a family for Christmas. If you wish to help in any way, please send your donation to the school office by Tuesday 13 th December. Also, if you have a Christmas jumper which no longer fits your child, we would be happy to accept washed, good quality Christmas jumpers to pass on to another child.
As you will have seen in the media, there has been a sharp increase in the number of children with Strep A or Scarlet Fever. Eight children have died recently as a result of contracting this contagious illness. Signs to look out for:
• Sore throat •
Headache
• Fever •
Fine, pink or red body rash •
Rash with a ‘sandpapery’ feel.
It is essential if you feel your child is displaying symptoms of Strep A/ Scarlet Fever, you seek urgent medical advice. Please do not send your child to school if they are displaying any of the above symptoms. Thank you Mrs F Boyd
