Bug Club

Holy Trinity are delighted to have purchased ebooks for our Key Stage 1 pupils. Children should now all have their own individual login and be able to work on an exciting range of books at home! Bug Club is a finely levelled, phonically based reading scheme, which ensures that each child can find a book at exactly the right level for them. Each child has a personalised homepage where they’ll find the eBooks they’ve been allocated by the teacher and motivating rewards. The online reading world ensures children can access independent reading resources anywhere at any time.

Bug Club books are graded into colour-coded Book Band levels, and within each level there is a carefully planned progression of books. This fine progression gives children plenty of opportunity to develop their reading skills and master each fine step while moving through the reading programme.
Reading at home is one of the most important things you can do to support your child. Bug Club offers advice about how to help with your child’s reading at home.

Holy Trinity Primary School: Prize-giving Ceremony 2012

Holy Trinity Primary School recently held its annual Prize-giving ceremony and it was attended by pupils, parents, teachers and members of the Board of Governors.  This event was organised to showcase the fantastic achievements of a huge number of our pupils during the past year.  There was a wide range of prizes presented to the pupils, celebrating both academic and non-academic achievements. Each of the prize-winners was presented with a trophy, certificate and a book token.  The school choir and brass ensemble were also present during the ceremony and they entertained the audience with songs and music.  It was a fantastic occasion and it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended.

Holy Trinity’s Prize giving is generously supported by Park Centre Shopping Centre which enables this important and rewarding event to take place each year.

P6MH KITE-MAKING.

Holy Trinity Primary School continued their work on the High Fliers programme run by Bombardier, when on the 4th October they participated in a presentation on the history and modern uses of kites. They witnessed a presentation on how kites have been used over thousands of years as a leisure pursuit. They also were shown how industries such as the shipping industry are investigating how kites can be used industrially to bring down transport costs of over sea haulage.

The children spent most of the morning designing and constructing their own kites, which they flew later that week.
