Holy Communion

Well done all our lovely Primary 4s who made their First Holy Communion on Saturday. It was a beautiful day for all. Thank you to Father Brendan for four lovely masses and to our teachers for all their preparations and beautiful music.

What The World Needs Now-Peace Proms

Every year our choir sing at the Peace Proms concert in the SSE arena. With no choir and no singing allowed this year due to Covid, the Peace Proms Team asked the children to sign the words for the chorus or verse of “What the World Needs Now” by Dionne Warwick. So here they are on Youtube – our amazing children! We are all so proud of them and big thanks to Mrs Mc Kinney our Music Coordinator, Mrs Sheehan, Mrs Norris, Mr Kelly and Miss Devine for all their hard work too! Enjoy!

Traffic Congestion

8/6/2021

Dear Parents,

It has been brought to my attention that parents are parking on Monagh Road, the cul de sac adjacent to the school. Residents are unable to leave their houses in the morning or afternoon when children are being dropped off and collected from school. This is extremely unfair, frustrating and upsetting for residents. It is essential that parents show consideration and respect to our neighbours and refrain immediately from parking outside their homes. There are sufficient car parking spaces within the school and it is essential that parents use these. I urgently require your support and co-operation in this matter.

Thank you Mrs F Boyd

Derrytrasna Award

On Friday a representative from the Dept of Education presented our school with a certificate and plaque for achieving highly commended for outstanding pastoral care in the Dept of Education Derrytrasna award. 300 schools applied and one primary and one secondary school were selected so we are absolutely delighted. This was a team effort and we are so proud of the pastoral care we offer to our parents and pupils and which our staff offer each other.

Letter From Mrs Boyd

Learning Packs I would like to thank our local councillor, Michael Donnelly, who along with local Sinn Fein MLA, Pat Sheehan, delivered a home learning pack for every child in the school this week. This was funded by the Department of Communities, Belfast City Council. The children were delighted to receive their pencil case which was filled with pencils, rubbers, scissors, glue, sharpener etc and also a book. Michael and Pat are always great ambassadors, continually supporting the Turflodge community and Holy Trinity Primary School. Thank you for your constant support.

Dinner Please find attached the dinner menu which be in place from Monday 26th April for the next 8 weeks. It will commence with Week One.

Thank you Mrs F Boyd
